  • 2 pounds of potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


  1. Peel the potatoes. Wash them and put them in a saucepan, cover with water, add 2 teaspoons of salt and cook for about 20-25 minutes. When the potatoes are soft, it means they have boiled enough.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the milk in a pot. Leave for a few minutes on medium-low heat.
  3. Take the potatoes off the heat, strain the water, and let them dry for a few seconds.
  4. Mash the potatoes while adding the warm milk and melted butter.
  5. Mix the mashed potatoes well until you get a smooth texture. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mashed potatoes are served hot as a side dish for any recipe.
