  • 8 cups day-old bread
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup raisins, or other dried fruit
  • 1 cup chopped and lightly toasted nuts
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon or freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon-sugar mixture


  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F.
  2. Grease a tray with butter.
  3. Breaks the eggs into a bowl and mix well for 2 minutes.
  4. Add sugar over the eggs and continue to stir until the sugar dissolves well.
  5. Add the milk and cream over the eggs and stir.
  6. Add vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
