Recipe Description
Bloody Mary is a cocktail that contains vodka, tomato juice, and other spices and flavors, including hot sauces, garlic, and herbs such as horseradish and celery.
Several recipes are known for this cocktail, as well as other names. Other cocktail names include Red Snapper, Virgin Mary, Caesar, and Michelada. In the United States, Blood Mary is popular as a remedy for hangovers.
According to wikipedia, the inventor of the current Bloody Mary recipe is Fernand Petiot, the first man who experimented with the preparation of a spicy cocktail in the early 1920s. Petiot worked as a bartender at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, but moved to Manhattan during the Prohibition and began preparing the drink for the Americans, adding Tabasco sauce, parsnips, or celery.
